And also establishes the heteronormativity of the narrative, removing any fear that the relationship between our - now two - heroes could be anything other than comradeship (and removing any necessity to have open hostility there). But it's still an incestuous pash.TristanP wrote:I mean it makes you think that she's the hero's future bride.

Does anyone know if they knew the real relationship at the time of filming?

Star Wars fan myth holds that Lucas was considering killing off Han at the end of this film (Harrison Ford might have quit).

Lucas apparently had all six plots planned out from the beginning, so probably.

You'd have to think Lucas knew and seeing as how Luke is 'him' in the movie, ugh!

Really glad that he wasn't... would've made the rest of the story irrelevant... and the Leia/Luke thing really icky.

While the quality of shooting from the stormtroopers/empire has improved slightly, they still need some target/shooting practice...

There are a huge number of similarities between the two sets of films - and the basic stories they follow. Part of the reason we're studying LOTR novels is the relevance of Campbell's model to Tolkien, despite Tolkien having come first.

How is it that people can sometimes understand r2d2 but not at other times?

Ah, Fozzie Bear's little-known second career in Star Wars. Good makeup job.

Steamy swamp - symbolic meaning. The source of all knowledge, the hero in the womb.
Re: Welcome to week 2 of online
at this point it almost feels like two stories, a classic rom com with leia and solo, whilst luke continues the heros journey.

Certainly two very different streams of the story at the very least...
